Diary

Diary is a five-piece out of NYC that blends jangly indie rock with the warm tones of fuzzy dream-pop, shoegaze, and psychedelia.

Longtime friends Kevin Bendis (lead vocals) and Chris Croarkin (guitar) reconnected in New York City after graduation, exchanged new friendship bracelets, and rekindled a shared love of guitar pop, fuzz pedals, and three-part harmonies. With two close friends rounding out the lineup, Diary formed, built a catalog of songs, and established themselves as regulars on stages across the city. The band eventually caught the attention of Kanine Records, forming a relationship that led to the release of the Diary’s label debut, The Cutting Garden EP.

After a lineup shift, Diary solidified as a group with the addition of Adam Sachs (drums), Jessica Dye (vocals, guitar), and Yan Kogan (bass.) Kanine went on to put out Diary’s next EP, Speedboat, along with a handful of singles, racking up praise from the likes of Stereogum, FLOOD, Consequence, Under the Radar, KEXP, and more.

The band has played across the East Coast, splashed around the SXSW circuit twice, performed as official artists at the New Colossus Festival five years running, toured across the UK, and were part of 2025’s Focus Wales lineup.

Their debut full length, Spiral Bound, will be out September 4th via Kanine Records.

Slipping through a hazy stream of heady grooves, decorated in the squalling fuzzed-out guitars of Chris Croarkin and the trippy yet swaggering vocals of Kevin Bendis, gradually rising to a high, as the morning sun comes up." — God Is In The TV

“With a rhythm riot underneath their smeared grooves, the band’s first taste of the debut stretches from The Roses and Mondays through shades of The Charlatans and just a hint of early Secret Machines." — Raven Sings the Blues
