Las Robertas
new LP All We Need Is Now out June 26th on Kanine Records
Based in San José, Costa Rica, Las Robertas’ lush, dreamy brand of fuzzed-out psych rock incorporates elements of both '60s psychedelia and the '90s alternative and shoegaze scenes. Citing influences like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Lush, Ride, and Chapterhouse — who they shared a stage with earlier this year — the band's upcoming album, All We Need Is Now, explores themes of living in the present, overcoming fears, and reaching a higher spiritual version of the self. It’s due out on June 26th via Kanine Records (US) and Spinda Records (Spain.)
Since forming in 2009, Las Robertas has toured in and outside of Costa Rica, including performances at festivals like NRMAL (Mexico), Levitation (Austin, TX), Coachella (Indio Valley, CA), Rock al Parque (Bogotá, Colombia), and Primavera Sound (Barcelona), among others.
All We Need Is Now was recorded by Adrián Poveda in San José, Costa Rica and mixed and mastered by Estanislao Lopez in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Album art was made by Costa Rican-based mixed media artist Juliana Quesada and features a Morpho butterfly, a symbol of Costa Rica that represents living in the present.
Las Robertas is Mercedes Oller, Fabrizio Durán, Russell Davis, Daniela García, Fabian Saavedra, and Felipe Oller.
